«Cheese Train»

A new excursion program for lovers of picturesque landscapes and cheese is offered by the Tourism Office of the Swiss canton of Vaud – between Montreux and the mountain village of Château-d’E, a Cheese Train has been launched.

From January to April in Switzerland on the route from Lake Geneva up the mountain slopes, rewarding travelers with magnificent views of the alpine foothills and snow-capped peaks, it is the Cheese Train (Train du Fromage) that will run!

The excursion staff will depart from Montreux to the mountain village of Chateau-d’E, tourists will be able to admire the impressive mountain landscapes of Switzerland and dine in a restaurant where guests will be offered tasting of the best varieties of cheese and fondue.

The train travels through the scenic canton of Vaud and heads to the largest wooden chalet in Switzerland in Rossinière. Travelers will also visit Château d’E, taste cheese cooked over an open fire, in the mountain restaurant Le Chalet. At the end of the day, the train returns to Montreux.
